Chief Rick Hanson

Rick HansonChief Rick Hanson joined the Calgary Police Service in 1975, and has over 36 years of policing experience in a number of different investigative and operational areas. For more than half of his law enforcement career, Chief Hanson has worked at a senior management level, both within the Calgary Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Chief Hanson has a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Calgary. He is also a graduate of the U of C Executive Development Program, the FBI Leadership in Counter-terrorism Program and the Canadian Police College Executive Development Program

Before returning to the Calgary Police Service in 2007, Chief Hanson was the RCMP “K” Division Chief Superintendent in charge of Integrated and Federal Policing.

Sean Dalton
Sean DaltonSean Dalton is the Southwest Regional Director for FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students).  Sean received his Masters in Theology and Certification in Catechetics from Franciscan University in 1998.  He has eight years of experience in diocesan ministry with the Diocese of Sioux Falls and the Archdiocese of Denver in the areas of youth, young adult and campus ministry.  He also has been a parish youth minister and Director of a Bible Camp.  He speaks to both youth and adult audiences and can address a wide range of topics.  He and his wife Jennifer live in Denver, CO with their five children.  

Sean was a college football player and an Academic All-American.  As the oldest of six children in a family afflicted with alcoholism, he shares a message of healing and restoration in Christ.  His journey of faith involves four years of experience as an Evangelical Protestant Youth Pastor.  He writes: “it was the objections to Catholicism and intense conversations with many of my Protestant friends that helped me deepen my Catholic identity.” As a power lifter with a 400 lb bench press, his message to guys is “we were made to offer our strength for others and that strength is acquired through discipline, growing in virtue, and above all a co-operation with God’s grace.”

Joseph Pearce

Joseph PearceTwenty-five years ago he was a radical activist, a skinhead, and the editor of two hate-filled, extremist magazines. Today, Joseph Pearce is the author of a number of critically acclaimed, best-selling biographies of great 19th and 20th-century Christian authors. He is also the co-founder and co-editor of an international magazine dedicated to reclaiming Catholic culture, and is writer-in-residence and associate professor of literature at Ave Maria University in Florida.  He is also Series Editor of the Ignatius Critical Editions and Editor-In-Chief of Sapientia Press.

Steve Wood
Steve WoodSteve Wood has led youth, campus, and pro-life ministries. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, he served as an Evangelical pastor for a decade before his entire family converted to Catholicism in 1990. Responding to a challenge from Pope John Paul II to strengthen families, he started the Family Life Center International in 1992. Over the past seventeen years, the Family Life Center has networked with thousands of families in over 80 countries.

Steve is also the founder of St. Joseph's Covenant Keepers, a movement that seeks to transform society through the transformation of fathers and families. Utilizing his books Christian Fatherhood & Legacy, CDs, television, radio, and conferences, Steve has reached tens of thousands of men in the USA, Canada and overseas with a message of Christian faith and responsibility. He is the host of the live Faith and Family broadcasts on EWTN worldwide radio.

Registration for the conference is $40 early bird, $50 after March 1st and at the door on Friday evening or Saturday.
